New camping equipment

June 28, 2011 at 5:48 pm

I am going primitive camping this weekend, to Wayne National Forest (Hocking Hills, OH area) and needed some gear to keep me warm at night.
Size-wise I was looking for something 1+1, so comfortable for 1 person, bearable for two. After some research here is what I have decided to get:

Tent:
The North Face Flint 2 ~$150 at local Dick’s Sporting Goods
http://www.thenorthface.com/catalog/sc-gear/flint-2.html
Looks like a decent tent, also got some tarp for it as recommended by other users.

Sleeping Bag:
Kelty Coromell CP 25-Degree Sleeping Bag – $79.99 at Amazon.com (got the long version just to have some extra room – I’m 182cm long).

I am not sure if the sleeping bag comes with the compression sack, so I got this one just in case, and for clothes as well.
Compression Sack:
Sea to Summit eVent Compression Dry Sack,Large – $35.70 at Amazon.com
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001Q3KL2C

Sleeping Pad / Mattress:
Therm-a-Rest Men’s ProLite Mattress Small – $59.99 at Amazon.com
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001QWFDSA
It will cover my whole body except legs. It is super compact, though.

and the sack for it:

Therm-a-Rest ProLite Stuff Sack X-Small/ Small – $14.95 at Amazon.com
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001QWFF06/ref=ox_ya_os_product

added to it:

Pillow:

Therm-a-Rest Collapsible Pillow

Cookware:
